What is Adenomyosis? Many who suffer from it like myself, refer to it as Endometriosis’ evil sister. Adenomyosis affects the walls of the uterus. Cells that normally form a lining on the inside of the uterus also grow in the muscle wall of the uterus. Google will usually tell us it only affects women that are 40s, 50s, however Adenomyosis does NOT discriminate and people as young as 16 have been diagnosed.
Adenomyosis can be aggressive if a persons diet isn’t controlled, with many women being heavily affected by foods such as meat, dairy, gluten, sugar, caffeine and saturated fats. This disease depends highly on our body being alkaline and when we eat acidic foods, symptoms worsen and our bodies ability to produce anti-inflammatories become “over worked”. If you swipe across you will see a great number of symptoms that this disease produces.
My heart is heavy for all the women out there who suffer from this awful disease. What doctors don’t tell us is that we can change our outcome, we just have to be open to healing and not suppressing symptoms... of anything! I have met some beautiful people along this journey with amazing stories. It’s important for our community to always spread awareness about what is Adenomyosis because it can be totally disregarded by people who think invisble illnesses aren’t that bad.
The symptoms above, are what women with Adenomyosis experience silently everyday and still go about there day with a brave face and a smile 💜
If you have any of these symptoms please book in with a local specialist to find out the cause 🙏
